ABOUT FAEZA

As my children went to higher primary, I returned to studies as a mature age student and worked part time as a learning support assistant. I realised that I am suited to a profession that serves the community as I personally consider care, nurture and service to be admirable qualities. Having been born and brought up in East Africa and having an Indian Pakistani cultural background allowed me access to developing nations through out my life. Witnessing that the fragmentation of nations is in part due to inefficient and conservative education systems, provided insight into the importance of an education system that aims to create successful learners, active and informed citizens, as per the goals of the 2008 Melbourne Declaration on which our current curriculum is based. Having completed my studies, I now work as a full time teacher in a Learning Support unit, grade 3 to 5. It is my passion to serve an education system, that aims to nurture successful citizens of the future, ready to innovatively solve the problems of an unpredictable and changing world. It is an absolute delight to be part of an inclusive system that fosters a sense of belonging for all, including those with diverse abilities, backgrounds and needs and one that values integrity, responsibility, respect, critical thinking, compassion and social justice.
